About Me

My love of film was sparked at a young age. I want to be both a writer and a director, and through my time at Idyllwild arts and through my own development as an artist, I've come to realize what those jobs truly mean. As a writer, I love devoting my time to the whiteboard: sketching out huge outlines for intricate plots, figuring out exactly what makes a character who they are, and trying to dance with my audience's expectations in order to create a truly unique story. As a director I not only love working on what shots and blocking truly accentuate the story that I'm trying to tell, but on how to make my crew happier and my sets more efficient. My time at New York University and on more than a dozen film sets has taught me that a film is not made by the director alone, but rather tens, if not hundreds, of hard-working and passionate individuals. I want to be able to bring out passion. I want to be able to get my crew excited about the story that WE'RE MAKING. Filmmaking is, at its core, about having fun. And I want to have fun, both with my stories, my characters (which suffer horrible fates at the hands of my writing), and my crew.
